A fantastic pair of 1960s Danish Modern salt and pepper shakers by A&B Lundtofte of Denmark, attributed to designer Lone Sachs.
Made from rosewood and brushed stainless steel, the dramatically tapered little forms are a perfect example of Scandinavian modern design—warm natural wood paired with cool metal and absolutely nothing extraneous. The original bottom stoppers are marked A&B, which helped us track down the maker.
At only three inches tall, they’re wonderfully petite, but the design gives them far more presence than their size would suggest.
