I am absolutely obsessed with this thing.
A wonderfully unusual and incredibly rare vintage coffee table, believed to date to the 1970s, featuring a reclining cowboy, casually leaning against his saddle with his boots kicked up, supporting a large glass tabletop. From his oversized mustache and cowboy hat to his blue jeans, neckerchief, and coiled rope, every inch of this guy is packed with personality.
The substantial, hand-painted sculptural base is hollow but remarkably heavy and bears the signature “Veras.” Research points to a possible connection with Veras Art Studios, a decorative arts studio known for its sculptural plaster creations, although the exact attribution remains unconfirmed.
These cowboy tables are exceptionally hard to come by, particularly with their original-style glass tops intact. Equal parts functional furniture, Western kitsch, and sculptural art, this is one of those pieces that stops you in your tracks.
I genuinely love everything about it. It’s ridiculous in the absolute best way, and I can’t imagine a more perfect statement piece for the right space.
