There’s no visible maker’s mark, so we’re leaving the artist, origin, and exact stone a mystery rather than inventing a story for it. What we do know is that the carving is terrific—the geometric face, oversized paws, open mouth, and dramatically curved tail give it a distinctly mid-century feel.
