Vintage MCM Plycraft recliner with built-in ottoman (often attributed to George Mulhauser), likely from the 1960s–70s. Plycraft is known for making that classic molded wood lounge-chair look that became popular during the mid-century era, often compared to the higher-end originals that inspired it, like the iconic Eames lounger.
This version is harder to find than the more common Plycraft setups because the ottoman is built into the chair and slides out, instead of being a separate matching piece. It doesn’t show up often, and you don’t really see modern reproductions of this exact built-in ottoman recliner style, which is a big reason people hunt for them.
Bentwood shell, tufted cushions, swivel base, and the kind of chair you actually want to sit in. Overall original cosmetic condition is around 7/10. Some light scratches, minor bumps and bruises in the shell, but nothing major. Mechanically it’s a 9/10 - functions beautifully.
Dimensions:
40” Tall x 35” Wide x 33” Deep
16.5” Seat Height
60” Deep when ottoman extended
