Designed by Viktor Wilkins for G-Plan’s iconic Fresco range, this teak desk is a standout example of British mid-century modern design. Wilkins took over as G-Plan’s lead designer in the 1960s and helped define the warm, organic aesthetic that made the brand a household name across the UK. Today, his Fresco pieces remain some of the most recognizable and collectible designs of the era. Many examples of this form were originally marketed as dressing tables or vanities, often paired with removable mirrors, reflecting the versatility that became a hallmark of the Fresco line.

This piece features the range’s signature sculpted teak drawer pulls, floating drawer pedestals, and tapered legs, all crafted from beautifully grained teak. Four spacious drawers provide plenty of storage, including a top drawer that retains its original purple velvet-lined organizer. The lining was intended to protect pens, stationery, and small desk accessories while adding a premium touch, a thoughtful detail that speaks to the quality and craftsmanship of the piece. The desk also comes with a custom-fit glass top that can be used to protect the surface while still showcasing the wood beneath.

Equally suited as a writing desk, vanity, or console, it’s a timeless and highly functional piece that captures everything people love about G-Plan’s mid-century designs.
