The Scandinavians had a knack for making everyday furniture just… smarter.
This 1960s Multiflex bench by Sola Møbelfabrikk (Norway) is one of those pieces that somehow manages to be a bench, side table, and storage cabinet all at once without looking busy.
The floating teak cabinet features two roomy drawers while the upholstered bench cushions on either side make it equally at home in an entryway, at the foot of a bed, or beneath a big picture window. It has that wonderful balance of clean Scandinavian design and practical function that made Norwegian furniture from this era so timeless.
Stamped by the maker underneath, it’s a piece you don’t come across very often, especially here in the States.

Condition: This is an all-original vintage piece and shows the honest wear you’d expect after more than 60 years. There are light scratches, dings, and age-related wear throughout, all consistent with normal use and adding to its natural patina. The upholstery is believed to be new and presents nicely while showing appropriate vintage character.
